Salon or barber shop?

my son has long hair and it gets all over the sink and house i told him to to go to the barber shop and get it cut short like a boys or i would dress him like a girl and take him to the salon to get a girls pixie he disobeyed me and did not go to the barbers like he was told now he will get it cut my way. should i take him dressed to the salon or dreesed to the barbers.Salon or barber shop?
